Valpolicella Classico DOC 2024

Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Rondinella and a tiny part of Molinara blend together with vinification in red, maceration on skins and ageing in stainless steel for 6 months, followed by a short bottle rest.

Valpolicella Classico Cesari 2024 was born from a year marked by sharp climatic contrasts: a rainy, cold winter; an unstable spring with temperature swings; and a summer that began cool, turned hot and humid, then broke with intense September rains. In the glass, it reveals a deep hue, intense aromas of black fruits and cherry, lively freshness with balanced acidity, subtle balsamic notes, and elegant tannins that shape its structure and harmony.

climate trend

Winter was rainy, with snow and frosts lasting until January, but also showed thermal anomalies, with December and February warmer than average. Between late February and early March, new rains and snowfalls occurred above 1,500 meters. Spring alternated cold and rain with brief warm periods, featuring a heat peak in April followed by a sharp temperature drop and further snow. May was unstable and rainy. Summer began cool and wet, then turned hot and humid, interrupted by additional rainfall. September brought intense rain (150 mm in just a few days).

vinification & maturation

Produced using the traditional red winemaking method, with a cold pre-maceration at 6°C for 7 days. After the completion of malolactic fermentation, a micro-oxygenation process in steel tanks is carried out for 15–20 days.
