Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC Bosan 2022

From Marano di Valpolicella comes a blend of Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella grapes, left on the vines to mature for a longer-than-average period. The wine undergoes maceration on the skins to extract their full potential and concludes with ageing in steel tanks and bottles.

The 2022 vintage was marked by a mild autumn with snowfall between November and December, followed by a cold, dry winter with the driest period concentrated in January and February. Spring brought unusually warm temperatures, reaching up to 25°C, before a sudden վերադարձ to cooler conditions with rain and snowfall at higher altitudes. The summer was hot and dry, with peaks up to 40°C, while significant rainfall in the second half of August accelerated grape ripening, leading to a slightly later harvest.

Valpolicella Classico Superiore Bosan 2022 is a well-balanced and elegant wine, defined by intense aromas of cherry and ripe red fruits. Its harmonious structure, combined with finesse and smooth texture, delivers a rich, enveloping tasting experience with remarkable depth, expressing the authentic character of the Valpolicella Classica terroir.

vinification & maturation

Following a late harvest compared to the bunches destined for other productions, the Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella grapes undergo a 10-12 day maceration to achieve their full potential. Malolactic fermentation is followed by maturation in stainless steel and at least three months of bottle ageing.

The vineyard

Bosan wines are born from a single vineyard located nearby the town of Marano di Valpolicella, at an altitude of 500 meters above sea level.

This area, remarked by terraced vineyards trained in the ‘pergola Veronese’ system, features a limestone soil of volcanic origin and ideal exposure.
All these elements come together to create dynamic, elegant, and distinctive wines, such as the Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOCG Bosan.
