Bibenda’s Cinque Grappoli 2027 for Cesari’s Amarone Bosan 2017

The Bibenda 2027 Guide awards its highest distinction to Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOCG Bosan 2017.

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOCG Bosan 2017 has been awarded the Bibenda Cinque Grappoli 2027, the highest recognition bestowed by the Italian Sommelier Foundation and one of the most prestigious accolades in the Italian wine industry.

This achievement celebrates one of Gerardo Cesari’s most iconic labels, a symbol of the winery’s ongoing pursuit of excellence and of a vision that has always sought to enhance the authentic character of Valpolicella Classica.

Bosan, Cesari’s Most Prestigious Expression of Amarone

Bosan originates from a historic vineyard in Marano di Valpolicella, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica. Thanks to its altitude, volcanic soils, and particularly favourable growing conditions, this site gives rise to an Amarone of remarkable personality and elegance.

Within the Cesari portfolio, Bosan represents the highest expression of our interpretation of Amarone. The grapes are hand-selected and undergo a lengthy drying process before becoming a wine of depth and complexity, aged for approximately three years in French oak barriques and then further refined in bottle.

The 2017 vintage stands out for its intensity and harmony, with notes of ripe and spirit-soaked fruit, sweet spices, and cocoa. On the palate, it impresses with its refined structure, silky texture, and long, persistent finish. One of its most distinctive qualities is its ability to evolve over time while preserving its identity, even after many years of ageing.

The Significance of the Cinque Grappoli

The Cinque Grappoli represent the highest distinction awarded by the Bibenda Guide of the Italian Sommelier Foundation. For Bosan, this recognition is an important confirmation: the 2016 vintage also received the same award, underscoring a style that continues to stand out over time for its quality, elegance, and consistency.

This recognition rewards the dedication, expertise, and vision that guide every stage of production, from vineyard management to the long ageing process required to express the wine’s full potential.

For Gerardo Cesari, the Bibenda Cinque Grappoli 2027 marks a new milestone, strengthening Bosan’s position among the great interpretations of Amarone della Valpolicella Classica and reaffirming the winery’s commitment to expressing the character of its territory through wines that combine identity, elegance, and longevity.
