Jèma Corvina Veronese IGT 2018

A different take on drying, starring carefully selected 100% Corvina Veronese grapes that undergo traditional red wine vinification process and 18 months of barrique and tonneaux ageing.

Jèma 2018 was shaped by a dynamic growing season, marked by a cool, rainy spring and an initially unsettled summer, followed by warmer, drier conditions that encouraged balanced grape ripening. In the glass, it displays a bright purple-red colour, while the nose reveals aromas of red berries and macerated cherries layered with subtle toasted notes and hints of cocoa, coffee and black pepper. The palate is smooth, full and harmonious, leading to a long and persistent finish.

climate trend

Autumn passed with mild weather and some snowfall between November and December. Winter brought low temperatures, coinciding with the driest period of the year, from January to February. Spring began with unusual peaks of up to 25°C, followed by a sudden temperature drop, along with rain and snow at higher elevations. Summer was hot and dry, with highs reaching 40°C, while consistent rainfall in the second half of August helped accelerate the ripening process of the grapes.

vinification & maturation

Maceration on the skins lasts about 15 days, after which the wine is moved into stainless steel tanks where malolactic fermentation occurs. After a short rest in the bottle, Justo is ready to be tasted.
